How old is Ash?

First topic message reminder :

Typically Ash is a ten-year-old boy, well on THE VERY FIRST EPISODE HE WAS. But now there just going to keep him a mere ten year old? To be honest he should be at least 18-19 years old, plus in episode 063 - "The Battle of the Badge", Ash stated 'I can't believe it's been a whole year since we seen Viridian", or something along the lines of that. And then not much is said about his age at all. So what up with that?

i don't see any character getting older in the anime in my opinion

the only bit of aging i've seen with ash was his voice, his voice must've broke in sinnoh, and yet he's still 10 with the same voice, that makes no sense

Well we know for a fact Ash will never age. Even if its his freaking birthday he wont age.

I think he would be around 16 based on the times i've heard time passing but then again i don't remember the episodes i heard them mention time passing.

I kept track of things like in battle of the badge when they mention that they have been traveling for year and when the indigo plateau pokemon league tournament was a few months away and other things like that.

and i think in "Pikachu and Pichu" that Ash says it's been a year since they have met, but that was a pikachu movie and doesn't really count
