I make sure i have 30 revives,20 fullrestore,20 max potion,15 hyper potions and 15 full heals and i capture the highest level legendary i can at that point. I also look up all their teams to see what to start out with.

buy 20 hyper potions, full restores, revives and make sure my pokemon are at level 55+ done.

I get them all to AT LEAST lvl 60. Then again I had lvl 55 Tentacruel. I still managed to beat elite 4. Tentacruel actually helped, but it was mainly Infernape, Rayquaza, and Girafarig doing the work.
